Updating your Okta¶
We have updated the way you login to the RE. This is a change to the Okta tenant, which is the underlying two-factor authentication (2FA) we use for additional security. You will need to set up this new account.
Our new tenant¶
Our new tenant is research-login.genomicsengland.co.uk, a change from the existing tenant, which is ngisengland.okta.com. This will be used across all our portals, so you'll find that you can use the same login to access things like the Research Portal, where you can view and access your registered project, Airlock, and the Service Desk.
What do I need to do?¶
You can now only login to the RE using the new Okta tenant.
To set it up:

On your computer go to
https://research-login.genomicsengland.co.uk. You'll be prompted for your email address, followed by your password.Make sure you use the email address and password your Genomics England account is registered with.

You'll be prompted to choose between Google Authenicator or Okta Verify. You should already have one of these for logging into the RE. Choose whichever you have. A QR code will appear on the screen

On your phone Open the Google Authenticator or Okta Verify app. Click on the plus to add a new account.
On Google Authenticator, this is a multicoloured plus at the bottom right:

On Okta Verify, this is a white cross on a blue background at the top right.

In Okta Verify, you will be asked to choose the account type. Choose Organization. Then select Skip, and Yes, ready to scan.

In Google Authenticator, select Scan a QR code.

Scan the QR code on your computer screen using your 2FA app on your phone.

On your phone you will now see
research-login.genomicsengland.co.uklisted on your 2FA app, along with the existingngisengland.okta.com. -
On your computer, you may be prompted to input a code, this is the six-digit code next to
research-login.genomicsengland.co.uk, which refreshes every 30s. Or you may go directly to the next page. -
You will land at the
research-login.genomicsengland.co.ukdashboard.
